What is cooperative
A cooperative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to realize common economic, social, cultural and religious need and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically-controlled corporation.
Ranging from small-scale to multimilion dollar business across the globe, cooperatives presently employ more then 100 million women and men and have more than 800 million individual members.
Why the SME sector?
As nation-states undergo some type of political, social, or economic transition, the sectors most actively pursued by local and foreign investors include military-industrial, natural resources, privatization, and inexpensive human resources.
What is often neglected, however by both the investment community and the various international and local government and policy stakeholders, is how to amalgamate and nurture dynamic linkages within a critical mass of SME stakeholders.
And yet, this complexly interwoven SME sector in the world\\\\\\\'s more developed markets is what creates the vast majority of wealth and economic-social stability.
