Meet the Co-Founders
Kurt Meyer and Paul Organ, co-founders of Orah, started their journey together in architecture school, where they quickly realized their passion lay not in buildings, but in solving real-world problems. After leaving university, they set out to build a company that would make a meaningful impact. Inspired by Kurt’s experiences at boarding school and the overwhelming reliance on paper and outdated processes, they saw an opportunity to digitize attendance management for boarding schools.
What began in 2013 as a simple idea between friends soon evolved into Boardingware—developed from their small flat in New Zealand. With little more than a prototype and a bus fare, they hustled to get their first customers, eventually transforming Boardingware into what is now Orah, a leading duty of care platform used by top independent schools worldwide.
Their journey was scrappy, driven by passion, and built on the belief that taking care of students’ safety and well-being is at the heart of successful education.
