The depth of Orah's integration with Veracross, Blackbaud & FACTS varies by SIS. At a high-level, each SIS integration features two-way data synchronization of the following key data points :
One-way (SIS to Orah):
- Student information (e.g., name, email, grade level)
- Student contact details
- Houses (dorms) and student assignments
- Groups (classes, teams)
- Staff information and staff-student mappings
- Guardian information and parent-student mappings
Two-way (Orah to Veracross/Blackbaud):
- Attendance records: Orah can create attendance records in your SIS, and attendance data from your SIS can generate insights & trigger alerts in Orah.
Students can check themselves into campus and/or class using NFC, ID, QR codes & kiosks for self check-ins.

Yes. There is a free trial available for Attendance Insights and Alerts, which works with your existing Veracross, Blackbaud or FACTS Attendance data. You can request your trial here, or request a demo if you would like us to show you through it.
Orah can update student class records and daily attendance records in Veracross and Blackbaud. Orah will sync class schedules frequently between your SIS and Orah to enable faculty to take the roll in Orah. Location records are accurate to the minute in Orah, and can be pushed back to your SIS if needed.
Daily attendance can be configured to update based on the first class of the day or limited to specific student groups using Orah's smart tags filter.
No. You can start with Orah using your SIS attendance data before involving faculty, students or parents.
Eventually, you can set up parents with login-less excuse forms, which are a quick and easy way to inform the school if a student is not expected at school that day. There is also an Orah for Families app if you want to give parents access to their child's attendance, behavior or wellbeing data.
By default, Orah performs an automatic data sync with Veracross/Blackbaud/FACTS every 24 hours. There are different sync frequencies depending on the SIS and sync function. Please contact us for more info.
Administrators can initiate a manual sync at any time to ensure immediate data updates.
Yes, schools can import and sync staff user accounts from your SIS into Orah. This includes creating and updating staff profiles with information such as department, email, job title, and contact numbers.
Orah allows the creation of passes (e.g., early departure, late arrival) for students, which can be synced to your SIS as absence records. These passes can be mapped to specific absence types in your SIS, facilitating accurate and automated attendance tracking without manual intervention.
To enable the integration:
1. Claim the Orah offer and request a trial account.
2. Generate API credentials (API Username, API Password, and API Client Abbreviation) from your SIS.
3. In Orah, navigate to the Integrations panel and enter your SIS API credentials.
4. Configure settings such as including day students and houses/dorms in the sync.
5. Click "Enable Integration" to initiate the first data sync.
This setup ensures that student and staff data remains consistent and up-to-date across both platforms.
