Veracross After-school Activity Attendance Now Syncs into Orah

After-school programs are a big part of school life: clubs, sports, enrichment, rehearsals, tutoring, and other co-curricular activities.

Veracross after-school activity attendance now syncs into Orah, so schools using Veracross can bring after-school activities into Orah’s attendance and emergency roll-call workflows.

What’s new

Orah can now automatically sync after-school activities, rosters, and meeting times from Veracross. This sync runs on the same 24-hour cycle as other Veracross groups.

After-school activities can now show up alongside academic groups for Veracross schools

When after-school activities sync into Orah, staff can treat them like any other group they manage during the school day. After-school programs create real supervision and accountability moments, and schools often want those moments handled with the same level of consistency as class time.

Use cases this unlocks

1) Emergency roll-call during after-school programs

A common scenario is an incident that happens after classes finish, when students are split across multiple activities and locations.

With after-school activities synced into Orah, teams can include those activities in emergency roll-call using the same workflow used during the school day.

Example scenario (from the brief): students stay back for a 4:00pm club. Staff marks attendance in Orah. If an emergency happens at 4:15pm, the safety team can account for students using the same roll-call workflow used for other groups.

2) Attendance for clubs, sports, and enrichment using the same workflow as academic attendance

After-school activity attendance often ends up being tracked differently than classes, simply because it lives in different systems or processes.

This sync is designed so staff can take attendance for after-school activities using the same Orah roll-call workflow used for academic groups.

3) Better coordination across multiple activity leaders

After-school programs involve more adults leading groups: coaches, club coordinators, teachers, and support staff.

Bringing activities into Orah creates a shared place where teams can run attendance and accountability workflows, rather than relying on separate lists and handoffs between staff.

4) A clearer picture of student location awareness outside regular academic hours

The positioning for this release is straightforward: syncing after-school activity attendance into Orah supports real-time location awareness for students outside regular academic hours.

This is especially relevant for schools that run multiple concurrent programs after school and want the same visibility they have during class blocks.

Who this is for

This update is primarily aimed at existing Veracross customers with structured after-school programs, including clubs, sports, enrichment activities, and other co-curricular programs.

It’s also most relevant to schools with lots of end-of-day movement, where clubs and athletics can create more complex student distribution across campus.

What different roles will care about

IT and tech leaders

This is a meaningful integration-depth update. The brief calls out that after-school activity attendance previously lived outside Orah, and now syncs on the same cycle as other Veracross groups.

Safety leaders

This sync is designed to support campus accountability after the school day, including emergency roll-call coverage for after-school programs.

Attendance and operations staff

This brings after-school activities into the same attendance workflow used for academic groups, which helps standardise how attendance is taken across the day.

School leadership

The brief frames this as extending duty of care beyond the academic day by capturing after-school activity attendance as part of a consistent, audit-ready process.

Next step

If your school runs after-school activities, check with your IT director to confirm your Veracross after-school activities are syncing into Orah. If they aren’t appearing in your roll-call view, reach out to support.
